Poysdorfer Saurüssel  A former icon of Austria's culinary history is the so-called „Saurüssel („pig's snout“). In the 1960s, a palatable Grüner Veltliner with 6 g residual sweetness was vinified in Poysdorfer, Lower Austria. Soon, the wine was known as a quality product nationwide: the unique bottle – labelled with an illustration of hunters chasing a boar – became the most known throughout Austria. After the 1970s, the wine disappeared more or less – but experienced an intense recovery these days: the “Saurüssel” is now finally produced again, on the initiative of 13 viniculturists from Poysdorf.
