Developing the form from the contentsPrecise communication begins with the analysis of the task, whether it be a company’s positioning, simplifying the logistics of complex way finding or the emotional narration of scenic stories for an exhibition. The contents that need to be conveyed are always at the heart of things. The right approach is chosen in close cooperation with our clients. We always take their aims and attitudes into account and create things that are as customized as they are surprising. Awards2010

Download References NetworkingWe are communication specialists. That’s why we cooperate with partners that do their jobs as well as we do ours. We collaborate with architecture offices, strategists and designers that are respected in their fields. We develop real, project-based partnerships. Inquiry and researchThe intellectual examination of current design issues is just as important to us as pragmatic work on design solutions that work in everyday life. Erwin K. Bauer has taught at the Vienna University of Applied Arts for many years. bauer – konzept und gestaltung therefore has close ties to that institution. His publications, interviews, lectures, written contributions and critiques of important issues are all part of his active and lively participation in the design discourse. We truly enjoy stimulating discussions with colleagues just as much as discussions with taxi drivers in which we try to explain the somewhat complex field of graphic design. Erwin K. Bauer is a trained agriculturist and graphic designer. Bauer worked at Total Identity in Amsterdam as a designer after studying font and book design at the Vienna University of Applied Arts. He founded “bauer – konzept und gestaltung,” his interdisciplinary design office in the Alpenmilchzentrale building after he returned to Vienna in 1996. He has taught courses in visual design concepts and design management at the Vienna University of Applied Arts since 1993. Erwin K. Bauer also lectures and organizes workshops at other institutions such as the Merz Akademie Stuttgart, Donau-Universität Krems, The Offenbach School of Design, The Mainz School of Design or the Zurich School of Design. Bauer’s work on specialized books, symposia and the regular publication of his view of current design issues underline how important reflection on his own and design work in general is to him. |
